A New Beginning

Hello All,

This is Kiran Shila, Lucjan’s son, and I am writing a final post for my father’s blog. It pains me to say this, but my father has passed away today peacefully in his sleep. This blog among others will stand as a testament to his memory, his wisdom, and his legacy. Thank you readers, I hope he inspired you as much as he inspired me.

Words are difficult to come by in response to this news. My deepest sympathy goes out to Lucjan’s family and friends. Lucjan was my spiritual teacher, my master. I feel empty this morning in his absence. Lucjan gave himself for his Dozgchen students. We were so incredibly fortunate to have him in our lives. I dedicate my ongoing practice to his spiritual legacy, and will always remember him as my root lama.

Lucjan was amazingly skilled at expressing the most profound and subtle wisdom in simple ways that even a beginner like me could begin to understand. I will miss the clarity, insight, warmth, and humor of his weekly talks. I regret not having made better use of my access to him, a rare Adept. But I am grateful that he left us a written record of his teachings in this beautiful blog. And I pray that he, freed from his mortal coil, will continue to assist us all in our spiritual enlightenment. Sincerely, Leo.
